Volleyball is a passion that came to Coach Doug Tabbert when he was, studying sports psychology in college. From there, he went on to having success in the field of sports psychology including providing mental skills training to a member of the 1997 Olympic team. Following this experience, he began coaching his first season for the William Woods Volleyball team. This year, the team went 19-19 and made it to the semi finals in the American Midwest Conference. Wearing many hats is what Coach Gastineau does best at William Woods University with being the associate athletics director and softball coach. In honor of National Softball Day, Coach Gastineau chatted with us via phone interview to recap how her team made the best of the shorten season due to CO-VID 19. The team played during their Spring Break in Gulf Shores, AL, had team mom plan an unexpected Senior Night, and were apart of the WWU athletics breaking classroom GPA records.

No matter if you are a couple hours away or an international student; all students can find their place within the campus community. Join three William Woods athletes: track and field athlete Ananiah Talton and tennis athletes Ariadna and Mireia Jordan as we talk about playing individual sports, treating everyone on campus like family, their food preferences and how to make William Woods a special place to call home. You will not want to miss it. Click the play button to listen now.
